One of nature's most abundant foods sources lives beneath the waters of our rivers, lakes, ponds, and seas. Native peoples the world over employed countless techniques to feed themselves and their tribes. Stalking the shallows and banks with spear in hand, casting natural cordage lines with bone hooks, creating nets and traps of countless design all served to feed people for millennium. This class will take advantage of a wealth of knowledge available to us from around the world to explore our roots in primitive fishing. The course will focus on the manufacture of various fishing tools as well as their application.
